If your installation fails, or generates errors, check the following:
  1. Did you install the license as instructed? And, did it return "1" when it finished?
  2. Is the Windows version 2012 R2 or above?
  3. Is the SQL Server instance version 2012 or above?
  4. When did you run the install? If it was a very recent installation, it's possible that collections have not started yet. See the Quick Start Guide section "Optional: Jump Start your Collectors" to kick off key collectors manually.
  5. Did you configure initial servers and settings? (See the Quick Start Guide.) Did you set the servers to IsActive=1 in the dbo.Servers table?
  6. Have you renamed or deleted the "sa" login? This may cause installation to fail.
  7. Have you disabled the "sa" login? While this may cause problems with the installation, it may cause problems with running Minion Enterprise jobs.
  8. Do the Minion database files already exist, under another database name? If so, create the Minion database yourself, using alternate file names. Then re-run the installation.

Additionally, you can check the Windows Event Viewer (specifically, the Application log) for further errors and information.
