Maintenance Tool Icons

Help ID: fleet.grid.icon.maintenance

Definition {#definition}

Maintenance tool icons appear in the Servers grid decorator column when Minion Enterprise has repository data for backup, integrity-check, index-maintenance, or third-party maintenance tooling on that server.

Hover the maintenance icon group to open the maintenance notes popup. Hover a specific icon and press F1 to open this page at that icon's definition.

The icons are compact on purpose: the grid shows the signal first, then the popup carries the operational detail.

Related DB objects: dbo.ServersExt, dbo.ServersExtTooltipNote.

Icon Meanings {#icon-meanings}

Minion suite One combined Minion icon represents MB, MC, and MR. Purple lights for Minion Backup, red lights for Minion CheckDB, and green lights for Minion Reindex. The lit sections show which Minion products were found without filling the grid with three separate icons.
Minion Backup Backup routines, backup repository rows, or backup ownership notes were found for the server.
Minion CheckDB Integrity-check routines or CheckDB repository rows were found for the server.
Minion Reindex Index-maintenance routines or Reindex repository rows were found for the server.
oh Ola Hallengren Ola maintenance routines were found. The mark is intentionally muted so it identifies the tool without overpowering Minion-owned decorators.
Rubrik Rubrik backup or recovery metadata was found. Hover notes often include a management-console link or escalation owner.
rg Redgate Redgate maintenance, backup, or SQL tooling metadata was found for the server.
ID Idera Idera maintenance, backup, or SQL tooling metadata was found for the server.
Veeam Veeam backup or replication metadata was found for the server.
C Commvault Commvault data-protection metadata was found for the server.
Cohesity Cohesity backup or secondary-data metadata was found for the server.
Veritas Veritas backup, recovery, or storage metadata was found for the server.
A Acronis Acronis backup or cyber-protection metadata was found for the server.
Druva Druva SaaS data-protection metadata was found for the server.
Generic maintenance Maintenance rows exist, but the tool is not one of the known decorators. This means "something is there, but it is not specifically identified yet."
? Unknown maintenance No maintenance-tool rows were found in the current repository data. This is different from generic maintenance, where rows exist but the tool is not recognized.

Grid Behavior {#grid-behavior}

  • One server row can show several maintenance categories, but each category appears in a stable position so missing data is easy to spot.
  • Minion Backup, Minion CheckDB, and Minion Reindex are shown as one combined Minion icon. Purple, red, and green sections light independently based on which modules were found.
  • Third-party and generic maintenance icons appear only when they are the best available maintenance signal for that row.
  • Hovering the icon group opens the maintenance notes popup for that server.
  • The popup can include formatted notes, links, owners, escalation steps, and other DBA handoff details.
  • Use Add / edit maintenance note... in the popup to maintain notes tied to the server, tool, and action.

Walkthrough {#walkthrough}

  1. Open the Servers grid.
  2. Find the decorator column to the left of the Status column.
  3. Look for maintenance icons on the server row.
  4. Hover the icon group to read the maintenance notes for that server.
  5. Hover a specific icon and press F1 if you need to identify it.
  6. Use Add / edit maintenance note... when the notes need an owner, link, warning, or handoff detail.

When no maintenance icon appears, the grid has no maintenance decorator to show for that server in the current data set.
